While I have skimmed some of Sylvia's books and feel a few statements have merit, I do not think she has the ability to predict the future. Society decides things have gone too far in one direction (space exploration or social mores, whatever) and then there is a swing backwards. I do think global warming, barring some huge volcanic eruption, will devastate us.
