A green lifestyle is a decision, personal, life changing a looking at others not at you, wanting more for my future and my children’s future. It’s never easy, because it requires change and even though today’s generation is less resistant to change, they’ve always lived with it, it takes effort, are you ready….. It means making an impact, on my home first, on my community, on my friends, being willing to talk about what works and what is not working, communication at it’s best. Some things are cheap, picking up litter, doing my part to recycle when it’s easier not to sort out the garbage cause I’m tired today. Some are more expensive, I choose to change to microfiber, throw away stuff I’ve been sucked into buying, explaining why I’m doing what I’m doing… As a cancer survivor I want to publicize what I’m doing, tell my circle of friends, who tell their friends, who might have a friend in high places, who can actually affect the super-bug that is taking over a floor of our local hospital….then the things you’re doing will be noticed….one drop in the pond….the ripples flow out forever and touch lives.

Anything that I have got with my electric bill that has to do with green power costs WAY more than standard generating of electric.
Since I do not and did not get any of the stupid dopes tax breaks (Bushes) Like those who have children or are married, Don’t expect me to buy anthing that has GREEN attached to it.

Well, I am NOT going to spend 40,000 and go completely non electric and solar powered.
I am going with a no-water toilet. Which is very hard for some people to comprehend let alone think of trying. I won’t be Impressing many people there.
If it saves money then I will take on these endeavors first.
We are switching from electric to propane. Tankless water heating system.
Things like that.
I am looking forward to canning my own foods grown outside.
I am starting small so it will not be overwhelmed.
I enjoy the idea of these changes. I put it in perspective.
It is so much easier a task then learning to get along with people I can’t stand. : D

In every form of marketing, whether it is a product, a service, a lifestyle, a philosophy, or anythng else under the sun, the main question that will be asked by the individual or family or group is this: What’s in it for me? (Accent on me.)
Here is my take on it:
What is good for the environment, is good for me.
What is bad for the environment is bad for me.
If my cleansers are bad for the environment, then they are bad for me, and bad for my home. And bad for my children, especially if one has asthma.
The American home is a toxic home. It is overloaded with cleaners with warnings all over the labels. It is overloaded with pesticides used to kill, well, pests. But keep in mind that if it can kill any living organism, it can harm others as well. Including you, your baby, or your elderly grandmother who stops by for tea.
What’s in it for me? When I think green, and follow through with actions that prove it, I stay healthier, and will probably be healthier in my later years as well.
Please consider these facts and take a look at the two groups I have growing.

For me personally, it should be cost effective and easy to do. Don’t get me wrong, I’d still recycle even if I didn’t get a discount in my trash pickup. It’s easy and convenient for me to do though. Changing all the light bulbs in the house to energy efficient ones makes financial sense as well, and so does turning off the water and lights when you’re not using them. I think that in order for a wider range of people to adopt a greener lifestyle that it really does need to be cheap and easy for them to do. Public transportation isn’t an option for people if it doesn’t save them money (since they would be, after all, sacrificing time and privacy). I don’t think that the lifestyle change has to necessarily make a BIG difference, so long as a positive difference is made. I also don’t think it has to be noticeable for others to see it. That reminds me of the South Park episode in which everyone bought hybrids and created smug pollution as a result. It simply needs to make a difference. If it works, is cheap to do, and is relatively convenient (even though it’s an inconvenient truth), people will start to do it on their own without advertising.
